about the creator
The Florentine couture house Gucci has become highly desirable under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele. The baroque-loving Roman modernized Gucci's heritage by imposing his eclectic and romantic style with a touch of '70s nostalgia. The label's ready-to-wear and accessories embody excellence and outstanding Italian craftsmanship. Founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci, the Italian couture house first specializes in leather goods inspired by the equestrian world. Its iconic symbol representing a horse bit and a stirrup exist since the brand's birth. In the 1950s, the company was taken in charge by Guccio's sons, who launched the Bamboo bag with its bamboo-handle, still constantly rethought by the brand, and the green and red striped grosgrain Web band. The logo GG was created in 1960, taking up its founder's initials.
